Troubleshooting
Quick Connect Plug Check on Your eBike/Electric Trike
Quick connect plugs are an integral part of the smart design of your eBike or electric trike, facilitating easy access to its various features. Each key component, such as the motor, PAS sensor, and display, is equipped with a quick plug that connects to a cable. These cables transmit signals to the controller, allowing your bike or trike and all its components to function harmoniously. If you encounter technical issues, it's advisable to inspect these connections: Unraveling for Access: You might need to remove some plastic wrapping to reach the plug connections. Disconnecting and Reconnecting: To check the plugs, gently pull them apart (avoid twisting), then realign and reconnect them, ensuring the arrows on each end match up. Ensuring Secure Connections: Double-check that each connection is fully seated and secure. Motor Cable Specifics: The motor cable connection may not audibly 'snap' into place, so ensure it is firmly inserted. For assistance, contact support@perraroelectricbike.com or call (949) 414-8003

Learn moreYour Perraro Electric Bike or Trike Won't Turn On
If you're having trouble getting your electric bike or trike to turn on, let's go through a few key steps to ensure everything is set up correctly. Charge the Battery: Start by fully charging your battery. You'll know it's fully charged when the light on the charger turns green. This could take a few hours. Unpack and Setup: Each model is carefully packaged to prevent damage during shipping and preserve the electrical system. Depending on your specific model, there might be certain key positions required to turn on the eBike or electric trike, or some electrical cables might need to be connected. We highly recommend watching our First Ride video tutorials for your specific model to ensure you've completed all necessary setup steps. Inspect Electrical Cables: If your eBike or trike still isn’t powering on after following the video tutorials, take a look at the electrical cables. Start from the handlebars and trace each cable, checking for the quick-plug connectors. These connectors, found throughout the eBike or trike, should be pulled apart (without twisting), inspected for any damage, and then reconnected, making sure to align the arrows on the sides for a proper fit. Learn moreReceived Your Perraro Electric Bike or Trike and Hearing Brake Noise?
It's normal for brand-new bicycles, including electric bikes and trikes, to go through a wear-in period of about 50-100 miles. During this period, various sounds, including those from the disc brakes, are common but should diminish as the bike is used more. However, if the disc brakes are excessively noisy or cause the wheel to stop within one or two rotations after you stop pedaling, they may need an adjustment. It's recommended to wait until after the wear-in period for your first adjustment, unless the issue is severe. Remember, when folding and unfolding the bike, the brake cable housing can dislodge from the caliper, causing the brake to engage. Always check the brake tension after unfolding your electric bike or trike. For brakes that squeal when stopping, try cleaning both sides of each rotor with isopropyl alcohol and a clean rag. Ensure the Pedal Assist System (PAS) is off and be cautious around moving parts. If brake adjustment is necessary, we advise taking your bike to a reputable bike shop. Ensure your brakes are in good working order before you get back on the road.
