For the best performance and longevity of your Perraro electric bike or trike, we suggest a preliminary inspection by a certified bike mechanic before your first outing, followed by consistent maintenance.
Best Practices:
- Store your bike or trike in a clean, dry environment to prevent rust.
- Ensure all components are tightened to the torque values provided in the user manual's "Recommended Torque Values" section.
- Verify that the frame and handlebar latches are securely locked before each ride.
- Regularly clean and lubricate moving parts.
- Use a damp cloth and a low-residue cleaner for cleaning the frame. After cleaning, apply lubrication where necessary.
- Always keep the tires inflated within the recommended pressure range indicated on their sidewalls.
- Check that all electrical connections are secure before every ride.
Important Note: The electrical components of Perraro Electric Bikes and Trikes are IP65 rated, offering resistance to most rain showers. However, we recommend storing and using these vehicles in dry conditions, as the warranty does not cover water damage.
Regular Inspections:
- Inflate tires to the pressure listed on their sidewalls.
- Use Tri-Flow chain lubrication or a similar product to lubricate the chain until drivetrain noise is minimal.
- Regularly check and tighten hardware to the specifications in our user manual.
- Inspect brake pads for wear and replace them if necessary.
- Monitor and adjust your bike’s shifting performance and derailleur as needed.
- Clean the bike frame with a low-residue cleaner like Simple Green, and dry thoroughly.
- Check and adjust spoke tension according to the recommendations in our user manual.
Tune-Ups Every 100 Miles:
- Refer to the Perraro Service Center videos for guidance on maintaining your bike or trike as you accumulate mileage. These are available for specific models and offer detailed maintenance procedures.
Please remember that each model of eBike or eTrike may have different components and requirements, so the tune-up process can vary. Always consult your specific model's User Manual for detailed guidance on maintenance.

My Polar e-trike is a no-go. When I first assembled the trike everything worked just fine. I rode it briefly then, and the power seemed correct, all electric functions worked correctly, so I finished assembly. And then - there is no power to the motor. All of the other electric functions (display, control keys, lights, horn, battery charge level, etc.) work just fine, but there is no power to the motor. Twisting the throttle produces no response. When I activate the display it initially lights up and reads as normal, but a few seconds later the red ‘Perraro’ strip at the bottom changes and the strip reads: “(E:a) failed to receive”. Obviously there is an electrical failure of some sort, and I haven’t been able to find it. I have checked all connections (as well as I can) and everything seems OK, but it’s not working. Help, please.
