Maintaining the Health of Your Electric Bike or Trike Battery

Storing Your Battery:

  • When not using your battery for a week or longer, it's best to charge it to about 60%. This level is optimal for minimizing cell degradation.
  • For longer-term storage, such as over several months, regularly check and maintain the battery charge at around 60%.
  • To track the battery's charge level while it's charging, you can look at the "Battery Level" on the display screen or check the specific voltage levels.

Assessing Battery Health:

  • Measuring the full charge voltage of your battery can help you understand its condition and identify any potential issues.
  • To see the voltage, press the on/off button until the voltage reading replaces the usual odometer reading. A fully charged battery should show approximately 52V, while a battery that's nearing the end of its lifespan might display around 37/38V. At 60% charge, the voltage should be near 48V.

Periodic Charging for Long-Term Storage:

  • Frequency of Charging: To maintain the health and efficiency of your battery during extended periods of storage, it is recommended to charge your battery every two months. This regular charging routine helps in preserving the battery's optimal charge level and prevents the battery from discharging completely. A complete discharge can cause irreversible damage to the battery, reducing its lifespan and effectiveness.By adhering to this bi-monthly charging schedule, you can significantly enhance the durability and reliability of your battery, ensuring it remains in good condition for future use.

Warranty Information:

Please be aware that failure to maintain a charge level of around 60% can lead to warranty voidance. It's imperative to follow these guidelines to preserve your warranty coverage.

For comprehensive guidelines on battery maintenance, please refer to your user manual.
